Julio Bermejo is one of the best known Tequila advocates in the world, and inventor of the iconic cocktail, the Tommy’s Margarita. In collaboration with author Ben Schaffer and artist Phil Bayly, a book is being prepared to tell his story and share his Tequila knowledge and journey.

About Julio
A San Francisco native, Julio Bermejo is the beverage manager at Tommy’s Mexican Restaurant and a highly regarded expert on Tequila. Tommy’s was ranked among the Top 50 Bars in more years than any other American bar outside of New York City. In 2016, Tommy’s received the Tales of The Cocktail World’s Best Spirits Selection Award. Julio received the Helen David lifetime achievement award from Tales of the Cocktail in 2014, and the first ever Industry Icon Award from Drink International in 2017. Julio holds a degree in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
